Where Have all the Foam Stamps Gone?

Image from Heidi Borchers ' stamp-making tutorial.
Do you recall just a few years ago, when you could find foam stamps everywhere? Places like the dollar store, craft stores, and kids crafts departments near and far stocked them.

Because they work very well with paint, and also on the Gelli Plate, I was looking for them, figuring I would have no problem locating them. Apparently, they are no longer popular for crafting because I searched high and low and had to finally purchase some on Ebay. (They can also be found on Etsy).

Guess I should treat my foam stamps very well, so they last a very long time!

ICAD 2013 Day One

Today is the first day for the Daisy Yellow Index Card a Day Challenge. I have never participated before, and was excited to join in this year. Each day for 61 days I join 200 plus artists who are also taking part in producing a bit of art on a non-intimidating index card.

My first card has an acrylic paint background applied with a Gelli Plate. I then drew a face int he corner and made the background into her hair.

I am very excited to see what others are coming up with as part of this challenge. You can join in at any time if interested.
